2017 Reflection

As the year 2017 draws to a close, instead of looking forward, into a new year, new oppurtunities, new memories, I choose to take a minute to reflect on the year that has passed. Not to look back and be disappointed in the things I did not do, or the goals I did not reach, but look back on the things we accomplished and how I grew as a person, a wife, and a mother.

When I look back on the year 2017, I look back with incredible pride. Pride, because this year was the year I got in the best shape of my life (hardly worked out before I had Oliver), and overcame my insecurities. I have never felt more in shape, confident, and beautiful in my whole life! I’m sure in 2018 I will continue to grow in physical strength and confidence!  Here’s to 2018 being the year I get in even better shape and push myself!!

This past August Oliver turned one!! People told me that your child’s life flashes before your eyes and before you know it they’re all grown up. I always thought they were trying to scare me, or exaggerating, but they were just being honest. Oliver has grown so much and is now becoming quite the talkative, mischievous little man. I have tried to be much more present when it comes to my family. I put down my phone and I just sit back and watch Oliver experience life. It means that I don’t miss out on this hilarious, cute moments. I also had a big birthday this year, having turned 21 in October. For me it wasn’t that big of a deal, because I swear I’m an old lady on the inside. Haha!

We went on two vacations this year, one of those being to Disney World. My husband and I are HUGE Disney fans, and Chase grew up going to Disney World. We loved introducing Oliver to the magic of Disney, although he was only 7-months-old, and we are already planning our next Disney trip!

Chase and I celebrated our first anniversary as a married couple in April, and our three year anniversary of being together in December. It feels like just yesterday that we started dating, and now we are married, have a kid, and we might be announcing a special something in January (stay tuned!!)! Life goes by in a blink of an eye, and so in 2018, I want to make so many more, fun memorable moments!

Here’s to MANY more memories and goals achieved! Happy New Year!
