How I Take the Photos for My Blog/Instagram

Okay, lets get right down to business! I wanted to share how I take the photos for my blog and Instagram. I don’t have the luxury of having a photographer friend or acquaintance at my beck and call (would be nice though!), and so it’s up to ┬áme or my every patient husband to take the pictures. Here are the three ways I take my photos:

  1. Husband- Usually once or twice a week I collect all of the outfits I either wore or are going to wear, and the Husband and I take some time to go and have a photoshoot or all the outfits. While this may not seem ideal, it’s what works for me, since he works full time, and because I don’t know anyone to take my pictures besides him. He takes 90% of the photos that are of me, or me and Oliver.
  2. Tripod- When I feel like I need more blog or instagram content, or when I simply have an idea I want to try out, I usually use my trusty tripod and self-timer. This doesn’t always work, or what I mean is, every other photo may not be focused, or for every 10 photos, I may get one good one. But if you have the time, it’s worth it.
  3. Myself- when using the first two ways aren’t an option, I tend to put Oliver in front of the camera (which he loves), or do a styled flatly shoot. Those photos tend to be just moments I want to remember, or ‘filler’ photos. What I mean by ‘filler’ photos, are the photos I take of random stuff or cute flatlays, and I tend to use them on days when I don’t have a new photo, or the weather has been awful and taking pictures outdoors (or even indoors) has been a struggle. I, personally, love photography, so taking photos is just a kind of hobby for me.

That’s about it, when it comes to the photography part of my blog. If you have any questions, or suggestions, feel free to comment below. Also, if you’re interested in learning how I edit my blog and social media photos, let me know!
