I can’t believe that I’m already halfway there, but at the same time, the days and weeks seemed to crawl by since I was so impatient to find out the gender (which will be announced soon!). I know that now that we know the gender and have picked out a name, time will fly by. It also didn’t feel real for me for a long time, maybe because the baby is just a baby (and not a boy or a girl with a name), or because I didn’t really start showing until I hit 19 weeks. Either way, I am so excited for the next 20 or so weeks! Heres a few details about my pregnancy so far:
How far along? 20 weeks exactly
Weight gain? So far I’ve only gained about 6.5 lbs (Definitely staying active has helped me not put on too much extra weight)
What am I wearing? Still wearing all my regular clothes, although I have had to do the hair tie trick with my pants, and I try to wear looser tops because I still kind of look like I just ate too much. Haha! The only thing that doesn’t really fit anymore are my sports bras and workout clothes.
Cravings? I had one or two cravings in the first trimester, but haven’t had any since.
How do I feel? I was still pretty tired in the first part of the second trimester, but around week 18 I started getting my energy back to the point that I don’t have to nap everyday and I am much more productive. So far, I’ve felt pretty good this pregnancy! I’m very excited to start organizing and shopping for baby things, as I’ve felt like my nesting started very early on.
Reading? Haven’t read a single pregnancy/parenting book this entire pregnancy, although I have been reading more in general. I have read a few blog posts about breastfeeding, but that’s about it.
Things I can’t live without:
- Water!! I could drink water all day every day!
- Palmers Cocoa Butter Lotion: I but this on my belly and hips 1-2 times a day to prevent any stretch marks and help the elasticity of my skin.
- Air conditioning: This may seem like an obvious one, but I have found that with pregnancy, my legs, ankles, and hands tend to swell really easily if I’m walking or standing in the heat for more than an hour.
