Oliver had his second birthday a week ago and I really wanted to share some things about Oliver as he’s grown and discovered new things. Oliver turned 2 on the 6th, and while he’s not old enough to request things for his birthday, he’s made it very clear what he likes and doesn’t like. We went all out for Olivers fiesta themed first birthday, but being pregnant this year, and also being more realistic, I wanted things to be a lot more low key. Besides first birthdays and the big milestone birthdays, we have decided to keep things simple from now on. Kids don’t care about all those Pinterest-y decorations you slaved over for a month, or much else for that matter. All they care about is cake, balloons, and having fun. Oliver loves Mickey Mouse at the moment so…

Staying active and fit during pregnancy is essential for a better pregnancy and an easier labor, but it’s not always easy, especially during the first trimester when your nauseous or exhausted (or both). But to be honest, I definitely thought it was going to be harder to workout than it has been (mainly because I’m carrying smaller so far than I did last time, and have no nausea). I think the hardest part for me is finding motivation when I’m tired or not in the mood to exercise. I have found that what motivates me the most is the thought that I am staying healthy for myself, my family, and the baby. Plus, I’m hoping it will make my labor as fast as last time! Haha! There are so many benefits to staying fit during pregnancy! Not only will it…

It’s not summer time without lots of berries, and that means visiting our local farm and pick-your-own berry patch! Our favorite: strawberries. I decided to make strawberry shortcake for Father’s Day our of our fresh picked berries (HERE‘s the recipe I used). We weren’t able to spend as much time leisurely picking as we wanted to, mainly because of the heat, but partly because unripe strawberries weren’t the only thing sour at the strawberry patch…haha I’m talking about Oliver’s attitude. Thankfully, I was able to bribe him with strawberries! Here are some photos from our day. 🙂 Outfit details: My Dress: Old Navy Straw Hat: Nordstrom My Sandals: Topshop Oliver’s Overalls: Thrifted (similar here & here) Oliver’s Sandals: Old Navy

Last week Oliver hit 11 flights, and although flying should be a breeze by now, I was a little nervous flying with him this time around because he is now a toddler and busier than ever. We flew to Georgia, which went off without a hitch, but our flight home was less than ideal. Our day started at 5 a.m. and didn’t end until we got home at almost midnight. We dealt with 8 layover hours, the first 6 due to wrongly filled out mechanical paperwork, which I am very thankful they took the time to sort out. When we finally took off, we had another smooth flight, only to land and find out that our 20 minute layover had turned into a 2 hour layover. I am so thankful for airport playgrounds so Oliver could run around and burn…

I hope you’re all having a great week! Mornings can be hard, and Oliver tends to wake up a little cranky (how?! after 12 hours of sleep??). Haha! I thought I’d share our healthy morning routine that we have discovered works after lots of trial and error. Granted, Oliver does his own thing for the most part, which I am incredibly grateful for because the mornings are when I am the most productive. Wake Up- If I don’t have an alarm set, I usually wake up whenever Oliver chooses to grace us with his energetic presence. Haha! Having a regular sleep schedule is key to a restful nights sleep and energy during the day. My day usually starts between 6:30-7:00a.m. I have found that getting out of bed right after I wake up helps me have a much more productive…
