orange flowy shirt // distressed jeans // black hat // layered necklaces
We are back from our Thanksgiving trip to Tennessee, and I’m already missing the warmer weather. Our trip was so fun and relaxing, and it was great to spend time with family! Traveling went pretty well, besides and occasionally antsy Oliver. He is cutting his top teeth, and on top of that he always needs to be moving, but thankfully the 8 1/2 hour drive went pretty smoothly besides that. Oliver loves Chase’s little sisters and they were a great help in helping keep him happy and entertained while Chase and I got some time with other grown ups.
The day we took these pictures, the weather was absolutely gorgeous! We tried out some cute poses that I saw on Pinterest, but they ended up getting deleted, because I ended up looking like an idiot and that I was trying to hard. Haha! But the views were breathtaking, and this dock was perfect for pictures (and my morning workouts in the fog). I bought this top, specifically with Thanksgiving in mind. It’s the perfect color, cute, and loose, so I could shove my face with turkey, corn casserole, and pumpkin pie.
Although we had a lot of fun, it’s nice to be home and sleeping in our own beds. Plus, now that Thanksgiving is over, it’s time for Christmas decorations, music, sugar cookies, and snow (hopefully)!! I was oh so kind to my husband and ordered what I wanted for myself from him for Christmas. Now I just have to find him the perfect gifts!

blanket scarf (can’t find the link , but similar here & here)
This weekend we ran errands, did laundry, cleaned, squeezed in some Christmas shopping, and tried to relax. I never realize how last minute I leave things, until its two days before we leave for Thanksgiving vacation, and I still have to clean all the clothes and pack for three people. And you may be thinking, “She packs for her husband?!” and the answer is no… I just ‘okay’ his outfits. Haha! I’m not sure how much sleep I will get the next two nights, because I’ll be listing all the things I need to do, and checking off the things I’ve already done or packed.
Chase and I are excited about our date night that we get to have while the in-laws watch Oliver over Thanksgiving vacation. I realized recently that Chase and I haven’t gone on a date (without our third-wheel) in quite awhile. We are definitely going to try to have a date night every other week at least, even if it’s just renting a movie and cuddling on the couch. We’ve even started doing fun little things, like: ‘ who can name all 50 states the fastest’ (or just name all 50 states), or asking each other fun questions about each other. For the questions, I just searched ‘fun couple questions’ on Pinterest. It’s fun to find out new things about each other, even after we thought we knew everything, and it’s even more fun to be able to laugh at each other (and with each other).
Now about this outfit! Accent sleeves made a huge comeback last fall, and their popularity is still in full swing… and I’m loving it! It adds flair to a simple outfit, literally. Haha! This sweater is so soft and so fun! I got it from a company called NA-KD. It’s not a new company, just new to me and I love it! They have the cutest clothes! I have worn this sweater so much, and it will definitely be going with me on Thanksgiving vacation! Have a great week!!

pom dot throw pillow // mini candle set // silk pajama set // double pom-pom hat // pom-pom knit hat //
Ugg slippers // green robe // faux fur throw blanket // thermal mug //
champagne blush candle // tassle pillow
Here is the first gift guide of the season! This gift guide is for the homebody in your life – someone who loves to stay home, curled up on the couch with a good book (definitely me!). Here are just a few things from the gift guide that I would 100% recommend:
fleece lined socks // I love warm fuzzy socks during the winter, and these are definitely a ‘must have’! The knit and pom-pom details make them both comfy and cute.
cotton pajama set // I LOVE pajama sets!! That may make me seem like an old lady, but I don’t care. They are so comfy and easy to throw on after a long day. Also, this green is gorgeous! Who says you can’t look fabulous in your pajamas?!
3-piece candle set // For anyone who loves candles, this is the perfect gift. This candle set smell like winter by the fire, and the gorgeous mercury finish on candles is perfect for decorating with around the house.
double pom-pom hat // I have seen these hats everywhere, and while I don’t have one yet, this one is definitely on my Christmas list. You can never have too many winter hats!
If any of you have specific gift guides you’d like me to do, let me know in the comments! I know that I, personally, am always looking for “boyfriend/husband gift guides’, so if that’s something you might want me to do, let me know!
burgundy sweater (I also like this one) // jeans // over-the-knee boots // bag (old, similar here)
I have always loved wearing burgundy anything around the holidays. It’s a great, festive color, and if you’re like me, it compliments my paleness. Haha! I’m all about getting is the holiday spirit. Over the weekend the hubby even let me put up Christmas decorations! I’m not usually one to ever break the “no Christmas before Thanksgiving” tradition, but I don’t know if it’s just how the year has gone, that we need a few more holiday days, or that I’m just super excited for Oliver to actually enjoy this Christmas! Probably a bit of both.
Lately I’ve been living in my comfiest jeans and a sweater. It’s like the cold just came and got dropped on us. Going out and about with a toddler is so much harder than I thought it would be. I’ve got to chase him down and wiggle his ginormous feet into his shoes, get his winter jacket on, and finally a hat and gloves. The hard part is getting all of that done before a meltdown. Usually by the end of it I’ve broken a sweat, or worse case scenario, he poops and I have to change him. Haha, life with a toddler!
sweater dress // over-the-knee boots // black beret
Thanksgiving is less than two weeks away!! I just thought I’d share real quick about this sweater dress from PinkBlush that is perfect for Thanksgiving Day festivities. It is comfy and so cute, and you don’t have to worry about tight, clingy clothes stopping you from eating your heart out! Haha! My favorite part about this sweater dress is the pretty lace detail that dresses it up a bit.
I’m so excited for Thanksgiving this year, because we are spending it in Tennessee with Chases family. I love spending Thanksgiving with family, especially in the South!
